Get answers to your shooting glasses and lens related questions
Do ZS-SPORT frames fit all face sizes?
Yes, the ZS-SPORT frame has a fully adjustable bridge. This allows the frame to be vertically adjusted to fit the bridge of any nose.
Can I change the lenses in my ZS-SPORT frames?
Yes you can. See our lens replacement service.
When shooting clays, can I just wear my contact lenses?
Due to the nature of contact lenses sitting on the eyeball, they naturally flex as the eye moves. This significantly reduces the uniformity and clarity of vision required to shoot accurately.
In addition, as the contact lens dries the quality of vision is impaired. Throughout the day the tear ducts produce natural secretions that would normally be blinked away when not wearing contact lenses. However, these build up when wearing lenses and distort the vision.
By wearing ZS-Sport frames these issues are negated with the additional safety benefit of our polycarbonate shatterproof lenses.
My scores are falling... Could I have eye dominance problems?
You may be suffering from eye dominance issues. Eye dominance is the tendency to prefer visual input from one eye to the other. Typically eye dominance correlates to hand dominance (eg a right-handed person will have a dominant right eye).
For 30% of the population, this is not the case. When “cross dominance” occurs, accuracy and performance is greatly affected. See our guide to understanding, testing, and overcoming eye dominance.
When target shooting, which lens material should I use?
Lenses are either made of plastic or polycarbonate material.
They offer equal optical quality; including clarity and uniformity of prescription throughout the lens. The only difference is the polycarbonate lens provides the added benefit of providing shatterproof protection.
Safety guidelines govern Full Bore Rifle shooting lenses must be made of polycarbonate. While Smallbore Rifle, indoor air pistol and indoor air rifle shooters can choose between plastic or polycarbonate lenses.
Should I choose single vision or bifocal lenses?
Single-Vision lenses sharpen your focus whilst taking aim and shooting. Bifocal lenses sharpen your focus on both nearby and far away objects.
Benefits of Bifocal Lenses
Target shooting competitors benefit from a second lens on the non-shooting eye, allowing clear focus when adjusting sights and marking scores.
Clay & Game Shooters benefit from a small bifocal at the bottom of the lens which allows clear focus when re-loading and marking scores.
If you require bifocal lenses, they can be selected at checkout.
